Meet our Executive Chef
Following our Meet our General Manager post, we are back to introduce our Executive Chef, Chris Lewis. We interviewed him and here is what he had to say:
1. HOW LONG HAVE YOU WORKED HERE AT CHAMBERS BAY?
CL: I’ve worked at Chambers Bay since April 2019
2. WHAT DREW YOU TO CHAMBERS BAY IN THE FIRST PLACE?
CL: Really it was the recognition that the course has obtained over the years that drew me to Chambers Bay. It was really something that I wanted to be a part of and contribute to.
3. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF YOUR NEW ROLE?
CL: My favorite thing about my role is working every day with the team that I have to create something that we are all passionate about. It makes the job a lot easier having a group of individuals who have the same passion and creativity.
4. CAN YOU THINK OF A MOMENT THAT STICKS OUT TO YOU IN YOUR TIME HERE?
CL: So far, the whole time here has been great. I can’t really think of one moment that sticks out more than the others.
5. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE HOLE HERE?
CL: My favorite hole here is probably #9. The view from that tee box is one of the best views on the course. Also, depending on the pin placement, that hole can look really scary.
6. LEAST FAVORITE?
CL: My least favorite hole is #7. I don’t know if it’s me or the hole, but I always seem to get into trouble at some point.
7. BEST SCORE?
In my time here I haven’t actually played all 18 holes in one shot. I’ve really only ever had time to get 9 holes in. That being said, I usually shoot in the mid 40’s for those 9 holes. The lowest I have shot was a 43 on the back 9.
8. WHAT CAN WE FIND YOU DOING WHEN YOU AREN’T AT WORK OR PLAYING GOLF?
Outside of work or playing golf, I am usually hanging out with the family for dinner or watching football.
